We got back two
weeks ago today from our first REAL vacation to Oahu, Hawaii. WOW!!! It was great we took all the kids and were
joined by Grandma Spence , Aunt
Tonna, Uncle Matt and Cousin Lexie. We experienced the
Polynesian Cultural Center with all the
beautiful BYU students in
their cultural dress, saw the Hula Girls and Fire Boys (
Shelbies' favorite), saw all the shows, learned to hula throw spears and other fun things,
shopped and had great food. At the Dole Pineapple plantation we got lost in
their huge maze but finally managed to find all the stations, rode the train through the plantation, and had the best
pineapple ice cream ever. We also hiked up to a waterfall (
beautiful) and enjoyed the best
Ha
waiian Ice ever at the top. We saw
sea turtles, lots of birds, swam with (kissed and danced with) dolphins (
Tehya's f
av). The best part of all was 80
degree weather and the
gorgeous beach. We loved the house we stayed at on the beach listening to the surf was amazing (was a sweet sound to lull you to sleep, I wanted to take it home with me), the view was great, and playing and walking
on the beach was a blast. The kids and grown ups loved it all. The pineapple, macadamia nuts, tropical
ice cream,
Hawaiian Ice, and all the other food was great. What a great way to bond with family. It was also great and come home renewed and refreshed. I loved the extra
time with my sweetheart, what a great way
to r
econnect. I love being home but it sure was nice to suspend reality for a while. I hope to make it back someday without children.
